About us
For more than one hundred years the Ahmadiyya Muslim community has been leading a peaceful revival of Islam. From the time it was founded in India in 1889 it has enjoyed an unrivalled record for peace and for its efforts to build cohesive societies.
Established in the UK since 1913, we built London’s first mosque in 1926 (The London Mosque in Putney). We now have one hundred branches across Britain and have opened a number of mosques including the landmark Baitul Futuh mosque in south London, which is the largest in western Europe.
Our Leader
Since the founder’s demise in 1908 we have been led by a series of Caliphs or spiritual leaders, the present being His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad; this form of global leadership is another distinctive feature of this community.
He continues to relay the message of peace to the corners of the earth, a message that has been reflected in action by the community through humanitarian efforts by men, women and the youth of the community.
In fact the members of the community willingly give time and money for relief work even in the remote parts of the globe, to help those in need regardless of creed or colour.

Humanity First provides aid on the basis of necessity alone, irrespective of caste, creed, color or religion. Our mission is to serve socially disadvantaged individuals and families in the poorer communities and disaster struck areas of the world. We aim to offer sustainable development solutions to society whilst providing and empowering local communities the resources to help themselves. We promote peace and understanding based on mutual respect and acceptance. Through advocacy, emergency responses and efficient programming, HF prioritizes the health and safety of those most vulnerable.
United Against Extremism
The rise of extremism and hatred threatens the peace of our society. In too many instances this has resulted in violence and even murder. Where extremism is carried out in the name of Islam or any religion then it pains us even more, for as Muslims we know that all prophets came with a message of peace. It is therefore critical that we do not let extremists and extremist ideology divide us. This campaign seeks to remove misconceptions and calls on all people of peace, including those of faith and of no faith, to come together and stand in solidarity against all forms of extremism. Standing together, united against extremism, for the sake of peace we pledge to preserve our bonds of friendship, to promote mutual respect and to build a peaceful society for all.
Charity Walk for Peace
The Charity Walk for Peace was founded in the service of humanity, rooted in the call of duty and substantiated by our mission actuated not by consideration of reciprocity or reputation but rather our desire to win the pleasure of God through service to his creation. Our aim is to relieve the suffering of the poor, to promote peace, understanding and good will amongst people of all walks of life. The Charity Walk for Peace is an initiative of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association – part of the UK’s oldest established Muslim community. Inspired by the tenets of Islam, the Charity Walk for Peace aims to relieve suffering and serve mankind regardless of colour, creed or race. By bringing people together to help others it works to promote peace, engender greater understanding and promote goodwill amongst people from all walks of life.
