Doncaster Muslims to join UK’s largest Muslim convention celebrating peace, faith and community
Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Doncaster, based at Baitul Baseer Mosque, will be travelling later this month to take part in Jalsa Salana UK 2026, the largest annual Muslim convention in the United Kingdom.
Held from 24–26 July at Hadeeqatul Mahdi in Hampshire, the three-day international convention is expected to welcome more than 50,000 participants from over 100 countries, bringing together people from diverse cultures and backgrounds to promote peace, mutual respect and understanding.
For members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Doncaster, the convention is one of the highlights of the year. It provides an opportunity to strengthen faith, listen to inspiring speakers, meet fellow members from across the world and reflect on the values of compassion, service to humanity and peaceful coexistence.A central feature of the convention is the series of addresses delivered by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
His speeches focus on applying timeless religious teachings to modern-day challenges, while promoting justice, peace and respect between people of all faiths and backgrounds.
The convention is organised almost entirely by volunteers, with more than 7,000 people helping to transform a 210-acre site into a temporary event village complete with hundreds of marquees and facilities for tens of thousands of guests.Visitors to Jalsa Salana can also explore exhibitions showcasing Islamic art, humanitarian projects, interfaith initiatives and campaigns promoting human rights, justice and global peace.
The event regularly welcomes parliamentarians, civic leaders, diplomats and representatives from different faith communities, reflecting its commitment to dialogue and mutual understanding.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is well known for its motto, ‘Love for All, Hatred for None’ and its members in Doncaster actively support local charitable and community initiatives throughout the year.Nationally, the Community is involved in projects ranging from environmental campaigns and blood donation drives to fundraising for charities and supporting vulnerable people.
