Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Joins Leamington Spa Peace Festival
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Leamington Spa took part in the annual Leamington Spa Peace Festival, held at Pump Room Gardens over two days in June, joining local organisations in celebrating peace, community, and cultural diversity.
Throughout the festival, the Community hosted an exhibition exploring Islam’s teachings on contemporary issues and screened an introductory film about the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the worldwide efforts of His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Fifth Caliph, to promote peace, justice, and harmony.
A popular feature of the stall was a live Arabic calligraphy exhibition, where visitors had their names beautifully transcribed into Arabic, attracting significant interest from festival attendees.
The festival welcomed several thousand visitors over the weekend. During the event, the mosque’s Imam, Shahzad Ahmad, delivered a talk on the theme of peace from the main stage, while volunteers engaged visitors in discussion and distributed almost 1,000 informational leaflets on Islam and contemporary issues. Light refreshments were also served to guests visiting the stall.
The Community’s participation in the festival was also featured on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire’s social media channels, reflecting the event’s focus on bringing people together and encouraging dialogue across communities.
