People invited to take part in Silsden tree-planting project
The project is taking place at Silsden on Saturday, January 24.
Keighley Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is spearheading the venture, as part of an ongoing environmental campaign. It is working in partnership on the project with YORgreen CIC and the Woodland Trust.
Humza Sikander, imam and the association’s youth leader, says: “Our members are absolutely delighted to once again have the opportunity to contribute positively to the environment.”Protecting and beautifying the planet is a core principle of our faith, and it is also a shared responsibility embraced by people of all backgrounds.
“Initiatives like this also play an important role in strengthening community cohesion, and our members are keen to remain actively involved in similar projects in the future.”Anyone interested in taking part in the planting session is asked to contact the association via @MKAKeighley on X.
