Young Muslims clean Watford streets to start the new year

Young Muslims from Watford began 2025 by cleaning up streets in the town. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) upheld its annual tradition of community service by organising a street cleaning initiative on New Year’s Day. Volunteers and community members from the area came together to help clean up their neighbourhoods.
Ahmad Samanullah, the local AMYA youth leader, said: “Cleanliness is a core tenet of our faith, and this initiative allows us to put our values into action while giving back to our country.”Seeing our youth and community members come together on New Year’s morning to serve others is truly inspiring. “Even a few hours of effort can make a significant difference.” Throughout the year, AMYA organises a variety of initiatives, such as tree planting, fundraising, blood drives, and food distribution, as part of its nationwide Mercy4Mankind campaign. AMYA has raised more than £750,000 for British charities.
