TEAM GB OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU!
One of Britain’s oldest established Muslim communities and home to Britain’s biggest mosque sends prayers and best wishes for Team GB’s Olympic squad.
Rafiq Hayat, National President Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK, said sport is a remarkable way of bringing nations together and for people to demonstrate the best of perseverance, competitiveness, fairness and dignity.
Rooting for Team GB he said:
“We wish Team GB every success and hope they return with a clutch of medals. We pray for their success and hope that in every event Team GB will make us proud.
“We will also be praying for the success of the Olympics as a whole. We were very proud of London 2012 and hope that Rio 2016 is as safe and successful for all participants – but of course Team GB will have a special place in our hearts and prayers!”
