Slough and Windsor Remembrance Day

Residents across Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead fell silent on November 11 and Remembrance Sunday to pay tribute to the lives lost in the armed forces. On Remembrance Sunday a service was held at the Town Square from 10.40am to 11.30. Following a moment of silence, attendees proceeded on to St. Mary’s Church, Church Street, Slough for a service and to lay wreaths. Other services were held in Cippenham and Burnham on Remembrance Sunday.

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough & South Bucks had the honour to lay three wreaths at the Services held by the respective Royal British Legion branches of Cippenham and Burnham. This follows on from the Community’s Poppy Appeal collections over the last two weeks in ASDA Cippenham and Sainsbury’s Uxbridge Road.

Secretary Outreach for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough, Atiq Ahmad Bhatti said: “It is always a humbling time to have the honour to lay a wreath on Remembrance Sunday and join alongside the many thousands around the country who come together at this poignant time of year to remember those who fought for our tomorrow.”
