Over 500 Gather in Huddersfield for Eid-ul-Adha Prayers Promoting Peace and Unity

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community marks Eid with messages of compassion, charity, and reflection

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Huddersfield welcomed more than 500 members of the local community to the Hudawi Centre on the morning of Friday, 6th June 2025, to mark the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. The celebration brought together families, youth, and elders in a shared spirit of worship, unity, and gratitude.

A Morning of Prayer and Purpose

The congregation gathered early for the Eid-ul-Adha prayers, a central part of the Islamic festival commemorating the sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his family. The prayers were followed by a poignant sermon focused on peace, justice, and compassion, offering special supplications for those suffering in areas affected by conflict across the globe. Attendees united in prayer for a more harmonious future, rooted in mutual respect and the inherent dignity of all human beings.

Sharing Joy and Giving Back

In keeping with the spirit of Eid, the event included the distribution of gifts and chocolates to children and those facing hardship. The gesture was a reminder of the festival’s deeper values—generosity, empathy, and looking after the less fortunate, particularly during challenging times.

A Message of Faith and Service

Fatihul-Haq, External Affairs Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Huddersfield, shared a powerful message with attendees and the wider community: “Today, we remember that our duties go beyond rituals. “We must support and uplift each other, regardless of colour, race, or religion. Our faith teaches that war is not the solution—dialogue, understanding, and unity are the path to a better society.” “The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s motto, ‘Love for All, Hatred for None,’ captures the very spirit of Eid, and our commitment to building bridges, not walls, between communities.”

A Celebration Rooted in Faith and Unity

As the morning drew to a close, the Hudawi Centre remained filled with a strong sense of peace, brotherhood, and shared purpose. The event served not only as a celebration of faith but also as a reaffirmation of the community’s dedication to the Islamic principles of sacrifice, compassion, and service to humanity, values that continue to inspire future generations.
