Newcastle Ahmadi Muslim Ladies Assist the Needy
Clothes Donation
In February, ladies from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Newcastle donated warm clothing for destitute people. The clothes were delivered to St. Oswald’s Hospice charity in Gateshead, which is dedicated to fighting childhood cancer and improving the quality of life for everyone in the North East living with an incurable condition.
Volunteering at Queen Elizabeth Hospital
Some ladies have been volunteering at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, for several days every month. They assist in various activities at the hospital, mainly helping the elderly people. This is a key part of their work to help out in the community in line with their Islamic faith.
Assisting Patients via a Covid-19 helpline
Ahmadi Muslim ladies in Newcastle have also been active in supporting a Covid-19 helpline. This involves guiding and offering advice to callers on symptoms, testing, vaccination and self-isolation as appropriate.
