Muslim youth group to visit Swindon hospital over Christmas
A Muslim Youth association is to visit hospitals, fire brigades, and police stations across Swindon. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) , which is dedicated to community service, will visit Swindon, Oxford, Reading, Guildford, and Walton-on-Thames during the festive period. The initiative aims to distribute gifts to children in hospital and to staff who work throughout the holidays, as well as deliver hampers to police officers and firefighters.
Mirza Mahmood Ahmad, regional youth leader for AMYA, said: “This is not a favour we are doing, but rather an expression of our faith. “We believe in serving those who keep our communities safe and functioning, even when others are celebrating at home. “Such visits also help our youth gain a deep understanding of the vital roles these institutions play in our society, helping to nurture a sense of responsibility and character.”.
The visits align with the message from the global leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who has emphasised: “Service to humanity is an integral part of faith. “We must work tirelessly to help those in need and show appreciation to those who serve our communities.” AMYA supports those who often go unrecognised for their dedication, particularly during the festive season.
