On 14 November 2021, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad held a virtual online meeting with members of Nasirat-ul-Ahmadiyya aged between 13 and 15 from Germany.
His Holiness presided the meeting from his office in Islamabad, Tilford, whilst over 530 Nasirat gathered at the Maimarkt Club in Mannheim.
Following a formal session starting with recitation of the Holy Quran, members of Nasirat-ul-Ahmadiyya had the opportunity to ask His Holiness a series of questions regarding their faith and contemporary issues.
One girl asked His Holiness about the influence of social media and how people can be persuaded towards a belief in God Almighty.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“In every era, satanic influences take people away from God. In this era, social media is another mode that Satan is utilising. Social media can be used for doing good and for spreading evil. You can upload good things onto social media and bring people towards good. At the same time, nowadays the majority of content on social media is such that it ruins one’s morals and takes one away from religion and Allah the Almighty. So with regards to content that takes a person away from a belief in God, those girls who have religious knowledge should respond to what is stated on social media about Allah the Almighty or about religion. You should make a team of young women who are able to respond on social media. If the questions are too difficult for you then Lajna Imaillah should make a team and so should Khuddamul Ahmadiyya. Where there are immoral or untrue posts on social media, the comments section can be used to respond. In this way, you will help those people who are impressionable and who become poisoned by such posts…”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:
“Other than that, it was Satan who said that he shall try to create disorder and nowadays one of the modes he is using is social media. The way to overcome such satanic forces is for us, as Ahmadi Muslims, to turn more towards Allah the Almighty so that we can fulfil our obligations of being true Muslims. And to save others, reply to the posts on social media so that the false narratives can be refuted.”
An attendee asked His Holiness what they should do in order for their prayers to be accepted quickly.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“It is up to Allah the Almighty to decide when He shall accept our prayers. Is Allah the Almighty a slave to us?! Certainly not. So our job is to ask of Him. Keep this in mind that there is no other being than Allah that can give us anything and Allah the Almighty is the One Who possesses all powers and it is Allah the Almighty Who says Himself that we should pray to Him and He shall accept our prayers. However, along with this, He also says that a person must believe in Him and have a firm faith in Him. Thus, you should have certainty that He will accept your prayer. You should have firm faith that whatever Allah is saying is true and you should act accordingly. What does it mean to believe in Allah? It means that whatever Allah has commanded us to do, we act upon it.”
Further elaborating, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Allah has said that there are five obligatory prayers in a day and that we should offer them with diligence and supplicate in them. You should now assess yourself, are you observing your prayers with diligence and are you supplicating during your prayers? Allah the Almighty has said not to think about immoral things. Are you avoiding such thoughts? Allah has said that you should avoid inappropriate programmes and gatherings. So assess whether you are keeping away from bad and indecent programmes on television and the internet. Allah the Almighty has commanded that we should treat those people well who are around us, such as our siblings and those we interact with and we should not harbour any evil. So analyse whether we are acting accordingly or not. When all of our actions are pious and we act upon Allah’s commandments, then Allah the Almighty says that, ‘if you do all this and you supplicate to me whilst worshipping me then I will accept your prayers.’ First of all, we have to reform ourselves, only then can the prayers be accepted.”
