Meeting Held with MP Kim Johnson at Local Mosque
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community recently welcomed MP Kim Johnson, her Office Manager Cate Murphy, and Councillor Portia Fahey to the local mosque for a visit and formal meeting. Guests were given a tour of the mosque, followed by discussions highlighting the work of the Jama‘at and the challenges faced by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
During the meeting, a video was presented outlining the persecution of Ahmadis in Pakistan. MP Kim Johnson was invited to join the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and was also invited to attend upcoming community programmes, including Jalsa Salana.
Following the formal meeting, MP Kim Johnson addressed a general meeting in the mosque, which began with Qur’an recitation and included remarks from the local Missionary. Guests were presented with copies of the Holy Qur’an, books, and informational materials. MP Kim Johnson also spent time with Lajna members and joined them for lunch. A Qur’an exhibition was held during the visit, attended by several guests, with literature distributed to promote greater understanding.
