Lajna Imaillah UK National Majlis-E-Amila has Honour of First Virtual Meeting of 2021 with World Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
“Lajna Imaillah should do a campaign to make schools and their teachers have a better understanding and awareness of Islam’s true teachings”– Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
On 2 January 2021 the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad held a virtual online meeting with the National Amila (Executive) of Lajna Imaillah United Kingdom (Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Auxiliary).
His Holiness presided the meeting from his office in Islamabad, Tilford, whilst the Amila representatives were gathered in the Tahir Hall at the Baitul Futuh Mosque complex in South-West London.
During the meeting, His Holiness outlined the various responsibilities assigned to the respective Lajna Amila members and gave guidance on improving the activities of their departments.
At the start of the meeting, a member of the Lajna Imaillah administration informed His Holiness that a programme had been set up to support Ahmadi Muslim women who were interested in setting up their own businesses in various sectors such as e-commerce and professional tutoring.
Furthermore, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Lajna Imaillah UK had used the skills of Lajna members to produce and distribute large amounts of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including over 86,000 masks and over 1,000 full medical scrubs for health workers.
His Holiness said that Lajna Imaillah UK should intensify its efforts to serve humanity and to widen the scope of its activities. For example, His Holiness said that Lajna Imaillah should increase its collections for food banks and similar charitable organisations. He also said that efforts should be made to help under-privileged people living in Africa to learn new skills so that they could stand on their own feet.
In addition, His Holiness said that Lajna funds that had been saved this year due to the fact that the National Ijtema of Lajna Imaillah UK was not held should be diverted to a humanitarian project – namely a maternity hospital being built by Lajna Imaillah UK in Sierra Leone.
Speaking about the project, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“I hope that Ahmadi Muslim women doctors will dedicate their time for a few years at least to serve in the hospital you are building in Sierra Leone. Certainly, after the hospital is complete it will be up to Lajna Imaillah to run it and to provide the doctors and other medical staff.”
Regarding Tabligh (outreach), His Holiness said that Lajna Imaillah should seek to convey the true teachings of Islam to the public and that the members of the National Majlis-e-Amila should be at the forefront of this effort.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Every member of the National Amila should seek to preach the message of Islam to the wider society and to convert at least one person each year. The National Tabligh Secretary should activate and motivate the Amila members in the field of Tabligh.”
His Holiness also said that he was aware that many school-teachers in the United Kingdom, charged with teaching Islam, did not have a proper understanding of Islam and this was something Lajna Imaillah should seek to address.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“I know that in the majority of schools the teachers are unaware of the true teachings of Islam and the way they describe Islam’s teachings and speak of it is often a means of disturbing and upsetting their Muslim students. Thus, Lajna Imaillah should do a campaign to make schools and their teachers have a better understanding and awareness of Islam’s true teachings.”
His Holiness also spoke of the importance of the moral and spiritual training of Ahmadi Muslim girls and ladies.
In terms of Ahmadi Muslim girls (Nasirat), Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated that the motto underpinning their moral training should be the saying of the Holy Prophet of Islam (peace and blessings be upon him) that ‘Modesty is a part of one’s faith’.
With regard the moral training of all members of Lajna Imaillah, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“It should be that all members of Lajna Imaillah are fully observant of the five daily prayers and through this their children will also be naturally trained in offering the prayers. Secondly, all members of Lajna Imaillah should be regular in reciting the Holy Quran on a daily basis. Within homes, Ahmadi Muslim families should read the commentaries of the Ahadith and the books of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) and all members of Lajna Imaillah should listen to my weekly Friday Sermons.”
