Keighley Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association in tree planting

MEMBERS of Keighley’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association braved the cold to plant over 350 trees. More than 60 young people took part in the session, at East Morton. The youth organisation has supported the tree planting initiative annually since 2013.

Humza Sikander, imam and youth leader, says: “We’re committed to doing our bit to improve the environment and beautify the communities we live in. It is a cause close to our hearts, because Islam places enormous emphasis on taking care of the environment and particularly on the planting of trees.”It has been a busy few weeks for association members, who have also visited Airedale Hospital and care homes, and staged a New Year’s Day street clean.
