Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad lays foundation stone for Sadiq Mosque in German town of Karben
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is pleased to announce that on 7 June 2014, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), laid the foundation stone for the first Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosque in the German town of Karben. His Holiness has named the Mosque, the ‘Sadiq Mosque’ (The Mosque of Truth).
The formal session began with a welcome address given by Abdullah Wagishauser, the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Germany, followed by brief remarks by Phiip von Leonardi, Councillor for Culture & Integration and Mario Schafer, Leader of the Green Party (City Parliament).
The keynote address was delivered by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad during which he praised the local citizens of Karben for creating an environment in which people of different ethnicities and backgrounds were living together peacefully. His Holiness said that this was a sign of the “loving and caring” nature of the local people.
Referring to the name of the Mosque, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“This Mosque has been called the ‘Mosque of the Truth’ and so the qualities of truth, honesty and integrity must be visible in every word and every act of an Ahmadi Muslim. Indeed, when the Mosque is complete the local people will come to see that Ahmadis practice what they preach and spread truth in all directions.”
His Holiness also spoke of the importance of loving one’s country.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“We believe that loyalty to one’s country should be a distinguishing feature of a true Muslim and if this is not the case then he or she is not being true to their faith.”
Following his address, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad laid the foundation stone for the Sadiq Mosque. The respected wife of His Holiness, Hazrat Amtul Sabooh Begum also laid a stone and thereafter a number of Central, National and Local Ahmadi Muslim officials also laid stones. A visiting non-Ahmadi dignitary also laid a stone.
The event concluded with a silent prayer led by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.
