Members of Waqf-e-Nau from Canada have Honour of a Virtual Meeting with the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
“Always remember that there is no other way but to pray to Allah the Almighty and bow before Him and ask his forgiveness and help in every matter.” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
On 16 October 2021, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad held a virtual online meeting with Khuddam members of the Waqf-e-Nau Scheme from Canada.
His Holiness presided the meeting from his office in Islamabad, Tilford, whilst approximately 500 Waqf-e-Nau members joined from the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
Following a formal session starting with recitation of the Holy Quran, the Waqifeen-e-Nau had the opportunity to ask His Holiness a series of questions regarding their faith and contemporary issues.
One asked His Holiness’ guidance on how to develop the right mind-set for life dedication in service of the faith in a society heavily influenced by materialism.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“If at the age of 15 you renewed your bond (of Waqf) and again after the age of 21, then now it is your duty that since you yourself have said that ‘I accept the offer of my parents and I am ready to sacrifice my life in the cause of Allah’, so then you should have that determination and know your duties. In this world where materialistic attractions are seen everywhere, here you have to fight against them. Being Waqf-e-Nau it is your duty to spread the message of Islam, to spread the message of Allah the Almighty, to spread the teachings of Islam and the Holy Quran.”
His Holiness mentioned that there is a spiritual battlefield in this day and age against materialism, and so Ahmadi Muslim youth must arm themselves for the battle appropriately by advancing in knowledge and spirituality.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“You are in a spiritual battlefield. Now you have to decide on your own whether you are going to fight against your enemy [of materialism] or you are going to join your enemy. For this, the first thing is that you will have to offer your five daily prayers, seek Allah’s guidance and help that Allah helps you to fulfil your bond of Waqf-e-Nau. Secondly, read the Holy Quran, see the guidance and commandments given to us in the Holy Quran…Further, you should also try to read the books of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) and take his guidance; what does he say about how to live one’s life. And also listen to the sermons, speeches, discourses and addresses of Khalifatul Masih. That will also help make you determined and stronger in your faith and in your bond… So, as I have told you, pray to Allah the Almighty, read the Holy Quran, identify the commandments and injunctions given in the Holy Quran, read the books of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him). Use them to strengthen your faith and to fight against the materialism of this world. It all depends on your determination and how firm you are in your faith and how firm you are in your bond.”
In answer to a question about attaining true communion with God, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Of course, we should try to develop our communication with Allah the Almighty. But it is not necessary that you will receive some revelation or dream or such type of things. Even if after having offered your prayers and seeking Allah’s help, your heart is satisfied, then it means you are in good communion with Allah the Almighty. Try to develop it as much as you can. It is a process. You cannot achieve the thing within a short period of time. When you are a primary school student, you cannot compete with a person who has a post-graduate degree. But you have to struggle and strive hard to achieve your goal and keep on doing it and God-willing, one day you will have better results. But always remember that there is no other way but to pray to Allah the Almighty and bow before Him and ask His forgiveness and help in every matter. That should be the main objective of a true believer.”
Another question related to improving one’s trust in Allah the Almighty.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Recite Surah Fatiha [opening chapter of the Holy Quran] repeatedly when you are doing your own prayers and say ‘Guide us on the right path’ again and again. So, Allah will guide you on the right path. Repeatedly do this in your prayers. And in your prostrations fervently pray that Allah the Almighty gives you the strength to be a good believer and firm in your faith. When you are reading the Holy Quran, just reading Arabic of the Holy Quran is nothing until and unless you know the meaning of it. You should know the translation of the Holy Quran.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:
“Until and unless you work hard in your school subjects, you cannot qualify or succeed. So how can you enhance your level of piety and righteousness without struggling or striving hard?… So read the Holy Quran with translation. Then you will know [the commandments of Allah], and it will strengthen your faith and your belief in Allah the Almighty.”
Another attendee asked how to develop passion in doing Tabligh [spreading the message of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community].
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“You are a Waqf-e-Nau and have offered your life to work for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for the cause of Allah the Almighty. So if you have a strong relationship with Allah the Almighty, if you have firm faith in Allah the Almighty and if you believe that the teaching of Islam and the Quran is the right teaching and the right path which can guide you towards Allah the Almighty then you should have the desire in your heart to not only confine that thing within yourself but to spread it and to save the people of the world also.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:
“If you have sympathy for the people then you should spread the message of Allah the Almighty to save others from the wrath of Allah the Almighty. So in this way you will develop some passion – that you have to save the world and spread the message of Islam and try to bring mankind closer to Allah the Almighty. Then, also try to increase your knowledge. If you read the books of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) and the Holy Quran and the Ahadith then you will find the ways and means of developing the passion and how to show your sympathy towards your fellow beings and that will help you to do Tabligh.”
