Doncaster Mosque to welcome New Year with ‘Meals with Love’ community initiative
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Doncaster at Baitul Baseer Mosque in Edlington will welcome the New Year in a spirit of prayer, service, and community care. Continuing a cherished tradition of beginning the year with acts of compassion and public service, members of the community will mark the day through worship, street cleaning, and the distribution of free meal boxes as part of the “Meals with Love” campaign.
The distribution of free meal boxes to the general public will take place between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm on January 1, 2026 in the parking area of Baitul Baseer Mosque, on a first-come, first-served basis. The meal distribution forms part of the Association’s ongoing “Meals with Love” campaign, which aims to support anyone in need, build friendships, and share kindness within the wider community.
All members of the public are welcome to attend, with volunteers on hand to greet visitors and share food in a warm and friendly environment. The new year’s day will begin in the early hours of the morning with the Tahajjud prayer in congregation. This voluntary prayer, offered in the deepest part of the night, is a time for heartfelt personal supplication. This will be followed by the Fajr (dawn) prayer held at the mosque, bringing worshippers together to reflect with gratitude on the past year and to seek blessings for the year ahead.
Demonstrating their commitment to serving their neighbours, volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association will also carry out a street-cleaning effort in the Edlington Lane area. This practical service reflects the community’s emphasis on environmental responsibility and civic pride, helping to ensure that public spaces are cleaner and more welcoming for everyone. Beginning the year in prayer and service has become a meaningful tradition for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.
By combining spiritual devotion with practical community support, the Association hopes to start 2026 on a positive, hopeful, and peaceful note. The message at the heart of the day is simple but powerful: serve humanity, promote peace, and spread kindness. Through initiatives like “Meals with Love,” the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Doncaster reaffirms its commitment to building bridges and supporting the local community, one good deed at a time. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community aims to live by its motto of Love for All, Hatred for None.
