MUSLIMS FROM LONDON JOIN 50,000 AT BRITAIN’S LARGEST MUSLIM CONVENTION TO CALL FOR GLOBAL PEACE AND UNITY

Landmark 60th Ahmadiyya Muslim Annual Convention calls for compassion in a fractured world

19 July 2026 Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from London will join more than 50,000 participants from over 100 countries at the 60th Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana), held from 24 to 26 July 2026 at Hadeeqatul Mahdi in Alton, Hampshire. This milestone gathering, six decades since the convention was first held in Britain, unites Muslims under the themes of prayer, peace and global solidarity.

At a time when tensions in Gaza, Ukraine and beyond are intensifying, the convention offers a powerful reminder of the need for unity, moral leadership and the healing power of faith.

 The convention is addressed across all three days by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide head and Caliph of the Community, who has carried the call for peace to the United States Congress, the European Parliament and the UK Parliament. He has repeatedly warned that, without justice, the world risks sliding into a devastating global war, and that lasting peace cannot be built on the strategic interests of powerful states. Addressing the crises in Gaza, Ukraine and beyond, His Holiness has said:

 “I firmly believe there is only one way to end these wars — by ensuring that justice prevails and that whatever settlements are made are based on equity, as opposed to what better serves the interests of external powers.”

 The convention will feature a global pledge for peace as tens of thousands of attendees form a symbolic human chain, renewing their commitment to reject extremism and uphold universal compassion. Interfaith sessions with diplomats, parliamentarians and religious leaders will explore how faith can serve as a force for reconciliation, while keynote speeches by His Holiness provide spiritual guidance rooted in Qur’anic teachings.

Exhibitions will spotlight humanitarian work led by Humanity First in over 50 countries, where food relief, medical aid and clean water have reached thousands regardless of race or religion.

“Sixty years on, this Jalsa Salana remains a beacon of Islamic values, of peace and mutual respect. As the world fractures along political lines, we condemn all acts of violence and call on world leaders to work for lasting peace. For our community, peace is not a slogan; it is a service, lived daily through sacrifice and sincerity.”

The 60th Jalsa Salana UK will take place from 24–26 July 2026 at Hadeeqatul Mahdi, Oaklands Farm, Alton, Hampshire. All proceedings will be broadcast live via MTA International to a global audience.
