Councillor visits Sheffield Mosque to discuss community integration
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Sheffield welcomed Councillor Mark Rusling to Baitul Afiyat Mosque for a meeting focused on community integration and strengthening relationships across Sheffield.During the visit, members and Councillor Rusling discussed the importance of bringing communities together, the challenges faced by local residents and voluntary organisations, and the role that faith communities can play in building a more connected and inclusive city.The meeting also highlighted the community’s longstanding commitment to serving people of all backgrounds through charitable, environmental and community initiatives. From supporting vulnerable residents and organising neighbourhood clean-up campaigns to hosting educational events and promoting interfaith dialogue, the Association continues to work towards creating a stronger sense of unity across Sheffield.
Councillor Rusling welcomed the opportunity to visit the mosque, learn more about the community’s work and discuss areas of shared interest.
The councillor for Shiregreen & Brightside expressed his enthusiasm for developing a positive working relationship and exploring opportunities to collaborate on future community initiatives.
